This Tens Unit comes with four pads, the cords to attach to the unit and the unit itself. It looks like a remote control which is easy to hold in your hand. The unit is programmed with several different modes or you can personalize it to your taste with different movements, intensities and modes. My husband has issues with his shoulder and this worked very well for him. He liked the knead motion the best. I have a issue with my knee and I leave it on the joint mode while using 2 of the pads rather than all four. I have no clue if this is doctor recommended for my issue but it does help with the pain factor which is what I was looking for.
