Okay first off let me say that this is not an "8 cup" coffee press. According to the company info listed below, a cup is listed at 4 ozs. Last I checked a cup was universal at 8oz so this is a 4 cup/32oz. coffee press.  I feel this is misleading customers. I have had several coffee presses and have had several different levels of quality. You get what you pay for so keep this in mind. This is a good quality coffee press and it is easy to use.

I use huge coffee cups so this is good for about 2-3 cups depending on how much creamer and sugar I add. I didn't end up with grounds in my coffee like I have had with some other presses. I have noticed that most coffee presses have a relatively short shelf lives due to the pressure that you use to operate them. I haven't had one yet that lasts outside of a year so I will update the review for this if I remember in the next 6 months.

How much is a cup?

In coffee lingo, a "cup" is often just 4 ounces. Other brands may mislead you with "8-cup" capacity claims without explaining that means just 4 ounces per cup. Our French press delivers 32 ounces of smooth, delicious coffee (the carafe can hold 34 ounces, but the filter and coffee grounds take up some room). So, how much is a cup? It depends on the size of your mug!
