This is a very spiffy contraption and a genius idea. This "positioning device" is well able to replace all kind of traditional tripods because it can be used in so many different ways. We have used it in so m any ways including jut watching movies, using it to hold a tablet while cooking and my kids taking videos to send to their friends. The legs are maneuverable in numerous directions with little hooks on the ends to be able to hold on to the ledges if need be. We used it with phones, ipods and tablets. We are finding new uses for it all the time. It is very sturdy and the mount is very easy to use. Definite recommendation.
