 I have tried several different types of dash mounts for cell phones or gps and I like this one. The piece that goes into the vent are rubberized so I don't feel like it will damage my vent slats. Is that even the right word? Hmm...oh well. It can also be vertical or horizontal which is nice depending on how your vents are made. The picture below is my son's Iphone 6 and my Samsung S4 also fits well.
